I woke up last night around 3am, gripped by a nameless fear. Unbidden the following words entered my mind:

When the missiles stop falling
And the tanks stop rolling
When the fathers stops calling
And the mothers stop wailing
When the orphans realise nobody’s coming
And the last building stops crumbling
The sound that is most deafening
Is the silence were once lived millions.
