Day 8 Kickstarter Diary

The Kickstarter campaign launched this morning (10th July 2026). The campaign was actually approved on Tuesday evening, so I activated the prelaunch phase. It seems people tend to keep their projects in prelaunch for quite a while to gather support before they actually launch their campaign. I’m working to a tight deadline, so delay the launch is no bueno for my campaign.

I’ve posted the campaign video on every social media I’m currently on, including YouTube, Bluesky, Upscrolled, LinkedIn and Substack. Across all the platforms I have a significant network of people, but I’ve still opted to pay to get my video in front of more people. It was on 23 views this morning and now its on 397 views. That said, it hasn’t translated into pledges as yet.

According to the Kickstarter dashboard, I am 17% funded already, and there is 29 days to go. The initial backers are of course family and close friends, with one or two hardcore supporters who follow me on everything. I’m really hoping the campaign starts attracting wider attention otherwise its not going to achieve the £3400 target. If that happens, I’m going to have to pair back the special edition to a fewer copies at launch and hope they sell at FantasyCon 2026. Inshallah, the campaign will be successful and is the start of amazing series of books.

If you have gotten this far, please check out my campaign at: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1827167870/arabian-dreams-volume-1 and consider pledging your support.
